What I do:
I am a computer software specialist with some 27 years experience in the industry. I do Analyst/Programmer/Testing/Team-leading work as a software consultant mainly in the banking sector. I am very adaptable in the financial and software sectors of the economy.
My last contract was for Deutsche Boerse on the Eurex derivative trading system developing a risk management product. The contract was not renewed because the project finished on time (the only one of 3 that did), the software worked, and there were not any new projects.
What I don't do:
Although I can use a soldering iron I am most definitely not a hardware man. Neither am I a network administrator despite being TCP/IP aware.
About me:
I was born in Melbourne, Australia. However, as I was brought to England as a baby I don't remember Australia. The surname is Norwegian in origin, but I have other blood in me - English, Irish, Scottish, Welsh, French and maybe some German. Australians have complex family trees. Some people know me as Tony Gunnersen or Ben Gunnersen - a nickname I acquired at school which has stuck.
I am now studying economics at the LSE as well as keeping up to date with computer technology.
